2nd dry night for ds 7.4. Is this it?!

Ds has had very few dry nights in his life, and even fewer of these have been in a row.

At 5 he had his HUGE (surgeon said biggest he'd seen) tonsils and adenoids removed due to sleep apnea.
Dr had mentioned that his brain was so concerned about keeping him breathing, it didn't care if he wee'd but that this would likely resolve itself after surgery.
It did, for 3 nights.

Fast forward a couple of years solid of brick-heavy pants every morning (and occasional wet beds too despite pants), we are on our second morning in a row of bone dry pants.

I don't want to be too outwardly excited at home in front of ds as he can't control it, so I want to be excited here please!

Could this be it, or just a lucky streak?

That's a lot of dry hours!

It was, wasn't it - only he had forced himself to stay awake, poor boy. Hmm

Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic here: only the coming days will tell whether it was a false dawn, or the real McCoy. DS and I were out-grumping each other this evening, with poor DD trying steer the middle course.

He's had long stories, and went for a wee before and after a Harry Potter chapter. We both agreed that he needed to sleep and to see what happens. Hopefully he will; he does tend to brood. No idea where he gets that...Wink

Oh of course it's not something to be encouraged, but looking at it from the outside, not only was it a lot of dry hours, they were hours when he was exhausted.

Still thinking of you Wink

3 weeks dry today, ds doesn't seem too bothered tbh.

HE WAS DRY!!! And HE WENT FOR A WEE IN THE NIGHT!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

And I slept through the whole lot, awaking with a start when realised that I hadn't heard any alarm. DH did hear him, though - which is just as well, as DS never had any recollection of anything.

So perhaps it was the real McCoy...

Such a happy boy this morning! He slept well, and relaxed a bit.

Happy Tuesday Grin Smile Grin Smile Grin

That deserves a fanfare. Grin. And a whole heap of mwah, mwah-ing. Wink

Even more superb is the fact that he will have been extra tired from the night before so to have woken up is brilliant.

Lemonsole · 01/07/2014 14:11

Ooh, it is indeed a happy Tuesday! And the very first thing I did this morning was to climb into bed with him for a quick snuggle, as it's something that you don't feel mahoosively inclined to do when it's knee-deep in widdle Grin

Air kisses and virtual champagne all round: we're back in the saddle. Fingers crossed that it lasts.

Lemonsole · 01/07/2014 14:12

I love how we will continue to celebrate and count, long after our DSs have stopped doing so.

Whereisegg · 01/07/2014 14:20

Yes, ds really doesn't seem to care, me on the other hand, I'll take that champagne Grin Wink

Alarm at 11. Didn't wake him up - even when we both charged in like the A Team, shaking him to wake him. Wet bed. Hmm

Sad DS.

Whereisegg · 02/07/2014 06:51

Oh lemon Sad

Wet last night. He's in a remarkably good mood though so I will take that. It's so much easier at this time of year so I'm going to think happy thoughts about that.

Whereisegg · 02/07/2014 08:32

Oh no Sad Sad

Meh. You are my beacon of hope Whereisegg Grin

Lemonsole · 02/07/2014 09:01

Egg: carrying the banner of empty washing lines!

Trying to be positive today: one brilliant and one good-ish night out of three.

Whereisegg · 02/07/2014 09:16

Can't I carry gin instead? Grin

OP posts:
mychildrenarebarmy · 02/07/2014 10:30

Yuck! Only if you promise not to share it with me.

Lemonsole · 02/07/2014 22:34

And, ten minutes later, an alarm screams. DH sprinted upstairs, shook him, and there was still some wee left to pee out when a very surprised DS found himself hussled to the loo.

Sheet change #1. This was early, so I suspect we'll be up again. Night, all.

Whereisegg · 03/07/2014 00:20

Night Lemon, good luck!

OP posts:
Lemonsole · 03/07/2014 07:36

Going to be a coffee-fuelled day. Hmm

Second alarm at stupid o'clock. Second sheet change, this time right down to the mattress protector.

I really don't like this. Hmm

Whereisegg · 03/07/2014 07:46

Arse Sad
