DS1 is in YR 7 at school - he is doing well, has made lots of new friends and take parts in several activities during and after school, and also out of school. In general he seems happy - a typical 11 year old really.
He seems to get very nervous about some things though, and this makes him have an upset tummy - it's not like full blown IBS as he has no other symptoms.
It seems to have no real pattern - things you would think he would be nervous about and have an upset tummy over, he doesn't. He was fine starting secondary, but had an upset tummy on the way to a football match - he was going to be sitting in different seats (but still with his dad) and was nervous about that.
He has played in different tournaments with his sports and activities, sometimes with people he knows, but usually not and sometimes in places he has never been before - again he has been fine. But he has a trip away with school for the day tomorrow, and started with occasional upset tummy last night. He was fine over night, but this morning had diarrhea, so I have had to keep him off school - he is fine in himself , it is definitely just nerves, but I don't know how to help him and I think If i take him to the doctor DS will see it as a problem and it will make him worse.
Any ideas on how to help him deal with his nerves?
