My 1 yr old is the youngest of 3. I was told by all that 3rd babies are chilled/ go with the flow/ slot in. Erm...not this one! Dh has fondly nicknamed her the "screeching tyrant" because she follows me around (that's fine - to e expected) but constantly screams and screeches and claws my legs till I pick her up, whereupon she arches her back to be let down. And repeat. She sleeps through (crossing fingers, touching wood etc), and naps fine so I don't think she's tired. She is walking well so i cant blame frustration. she only has 4 teeth so maybe teething? Eating fine, so not hungry. She's just never very content! My other babies were not like this at one year.

Anyone got any experience of a 1yo like this? Will she settle or am I in for a nightmare toddler.

If she is fine in all other aspects, I wouldn't worry. No answers but feel your frustration.
At one, they are starting to notice the trigger points in mummy and daddy. With older siblings, their own behaviour may unwittingly reinforce this. One year olds are already starting to notice the wider world and wonder how exactly they fit in.
Hard though it may be, I guess you have to try to show, and I know at a year, they are still babies and it's difficult, but try to show her that you and daddy are in control. PS don't call her the screeching tyrant when she's there. Babies pick up very quickly, on how things are said.

May be old fashioned, but why not stick her into sturdy high chair as you work in the kitchen or having a seat yourself. She will be able to see you but not get in your way. Good when cooking or unloading the dishwasher.

Best wishes x
