At what age did your DCs start to understand what a firm/stern/cross voice meant??!

Ds1 is 16mo and he literally laughs into face on the relatively rare occasions I use a 'cross voice' with him!! (when he won't lie still for his nappy change after much cajoling and gentle bribery, when he puts his hands in his own poo for example).

I don't do it often but I was hoping he would at least be shocked into stopping what he was doing...but nope! Doesn't care!

Probably just over two. By 2.5 she now asks 'Mummy, you cross?'

Mine is starting to about now at 21 months. Doesn't always listen to me but he will shake his head to indicate he knows I mean 'no'!

Mine doesn't still at 5.5

However he listens to DH's

Hmm

I think I'm just shit at doing the cross voice thing!

Change his nappies standing up, or sit on him. You can't persuade them to stay still at that age.
