Will we ever get out of pull-ups?

My Dd is 3.5 yrs and is still wearing pull ups at bedtime. Afew months ago, following regular dry nights, we switched to pants in bed and heaped on the praise etc. What followed was lots of bedwetting (and very disturbed sleep for the whole family). In hindsight, perhaps we should have persisted but with all of us bleary eyed and fed up, we reverted to pull ups again. Friends have said that they made the switch seemlessly and haven't looked back - are we doing something wrong?

If he's not ready then he's not ready. My dd is 5 and still in nappies at night-time - it's not something she has any control over so there's no point in pushing.

There is a hormone that suppresses urination overnight, and until that kicks in you're on a hiding to nothing trying to get them dry at night. Don't stress; it's not at all unusual.

My ds is just about to turn 6 and is still in pull-ups at night. Dd has just turned 2 and has been dry for the last 4 weeks.
This has absolutely nothing to do with anything I have done. One was ready, the other still isn't.

She sounds either not ready or just the timing isn't right. Ours were both almost 4 beofre they decided ot be dry. Many children wet until the first year or two of school so it will come in time. You may find a reward charts works if you are sure she is ready but try not to pressure her.

Remember some parents will say all sorts but it may not be entirely true ! (think of how many definitions of "sleeping through" there are )

Lizzie4 - you could be me !!
My DD is 3.5 and was still in pull - ups at night 'til a couple of weeks ago where off they came at her request - I'm persevering, she has a potty to use IF she ever woke up before the deluge!! I have bed mats, then sheet, then another bed mat and another sheet - so I only have to whip one off in the middle of the night!!But so far we have managed only 3 dry nights!
We're going on holiday next week and part of it will be spent with my childless SIL and BIL in Belgium and feel I have no option but to go back to pull - ups for the duration as SIL is SO particular and would probably throw the matress away if she thought there may even be a suspicion of wee on it !!
