One yr old never liked peekaboo... should I worry?

Mentioned today to a visiting friend that our one year old DS has never found peekaboo interesting, and was a bit surprised to get a massive concern face. Apparently all 'normal' babies like it :(

Is it a huge red flag? Should I get this checked, or just chalk it down to one of life's little oddities?

He's otherwise more or less where DD was at the same age - only major differences other than peekaboo have been that he walked very early at 9 months, and has always been (and is still) an incredibly poor sleeper. Maybe a tiny bit slower with talking, but she was ahead, and he babbles normally. Other than that he has been pretty average with milestones, and is generally a happy little chap. He does understand object permanence as he finds things we've hidden, and otherwise seems quite social - he likes to show us things and be around people, and enjoys other games like chasing.

My dd is 15mo and has only just started to like peekaboo... As far as I know she's 'normal', they all do things differently, but hopefully someone can reassure you more..

That's how I've always thought, and 'normal' is such a tricky thing at this age anyway (or at any age, it's not the nicest phrase)... thanks for letting me know that at least he's not the only one! With any luck there will be more :)

My DDs both have Autism and they both loved Peekaboo. I don't think this should be a concern unless he avoids eye contact and human interaction in general and there were other causes for concern too. Maybe he's just a person who doesn't much like surprises.

Does he hide behind curtains etc?
Mine was hiding behind the sofa from 8m when she started cruising.
They are all so different. Maybe he is just more on the active side
