How old were your Dd's

My Dd has just 5, for the past 7 months she has practically wanted to be like a certain girl at school.

I can remember when I hit the teen years I sometimes wanted similar to what a friend of mine had but Dd seems obsessed! It's as though she wants TO BE this girl.......If it isn't the wrong hair = too short too long or wrong colour, wrong shoes = there yucky, No tights because X doesn't wear them, wrong coat, wrong dress.......it goes on to the point that she gets really distressed and starts screaming until she is sick.

I don't ever remember my Dsister being like this (there is a huge age gap and we spent a lot of time together) and I don't have anyone else to ask about this.

I have wondered if maybe the girl in question may of said something about her coat etc and that is why she doesn't like them anymore but all seems well at school (spoke to the teacher). One morning I watched my Dd's world fall apart because the little girl said she wasn't her friend.....she was trying to drag me out of the school playground because she wanted to go home, I had to leave her with the teacher screaming. Sad Later when she left school we had a chat about what she can do if X isn't her friend but she just said she didn't want to play with the children Confused.

Has anyone had the same experiences as me? What did you do?
