Ice cold hands - is it a problem??

My 22 wk old DD has always had rather cold hands, but I believe this is pretty normal in babies.

We have recenty moved her into her own room and into a cot. She sleeps in a gro bag (2.5 tog) wearing a short sleeve vest and a sleep suit.

We used to cover her hands with the fold-over bits of the sleep suit to keep her hands warm but since she's been in her cot we've wanted to uncover them to help her find her thumb or finger so that she can maybe lose the dummy.

But her little hands are always soooooo cold. I have no idea if it bothers her or not, I think mayb not. But wondered what the rest of you do???

Babies don't have great circulation so their extremities get cold quickly.

If her core temperature is ok then I wouldn't worry, she would wake up if she was cold. DS always hand bold hand buy he tucks them in since he's been mobile.

My DS always had this. I used to put a cardigan on him but unfastened. Found that keeping his arms warmer helped.

I wouldn't worry. DD is the same (24 weeks). If it gets really cold (under 16 degrees) I think she wakes due to the cold but we've had a full winter of chilly hands (I hated those 3am freezing cold boob hugs!) and she's fine.

Babies have poor circulation but it's not like their fingers will drop off because of it.

My DD is 16, and her hands and feed are always really cold.

Yes used the fold over tops/babygros. 22m old and last winter was much colder. I wouldnt be surprised if thats why she used to wake up lots in the night (this stopped with CIO at 11m but it was also May by then)
