Teething advice please

DD is nearly 7 months old, she is teething as i can see the white of the tooth pushing against her gum, it feels hard/swollen. Couple of questions really..
How long will it take to push through the gum and thus dd have her first tooth?
also
very grizzly baby at mo (understandly so!) what teething remedies would you suggest? currently using calgel.

Have you tried the Aston & Parsons infant powders? James and I like them.

BTW we're off to the dockle at 7, if you fancy a wander over!

I use Nelsons teether powders, they work in minutes

B&Tmummy - I've not heard of those. Where do you get them from?

a teething ring, the one you can put in the fridge to help numb the pain a bit or give a carrot piece that has been chilled so can chew on.

I got them in boots they're also in sainbury's where I am, in a green box with a baby on the front
