My baby seems to hate me

My nearly 5 month old seems to really hate me sometimes, she will stare at me for ages with a look of complete contempt.. Also punch and kick me really hard. She scream and screams when she is alone with me. I never wanted a baby, it was a complete accident to become pregnant but I love her with all my heart now.
Sometimes I feel like she knows this? It's all a bit 'we need to talk about Kevin' at the moment.
With my dh she is a joy and he can't understand why I find it so hard all day long with her whilst he's at work

No no no of course she doesn't.

Have you spoken the health visitor about this?

Also do you smile around her?

Your DP is a novelty which is why he gets her best side. You are a fixture so she is comfortable being happy, sad, grumpy, just herself with you.

A five month old doesn't hate you or anyone, you know logically this is a strange thing to think? You are projecting your thoughts onto her behaviour, it's your interpretation.

Are you getting out and about every day? I found my baby was less screamy when we went for a walk.

Speak to your GP or HV, consider whether you're depressed.

Do you go to any classes or groups together?
Breaking up the day can help

Listen to what JupiterHeartwand said

My little guy sometimes does this but I think he was getting bored just having me for company! Do you go out to many groups? I've found going swimming, shopping or even just going for a coffee means Ds is getting a change of scenery and is less grumpy. Also since he's developed an interest in the dog he seems happier. He sits staring at her as she sleeps!

Oh gosh no, she doesn't hate you, speak to your HV or GP, try to get out morning and afternoon, a walk around the park or to a friends house for a coffee, find some local groups, I found this difficult as I am naturally shy, but made some really good friends. remember you are not on your own, ask for help if you need it
