Some babies are born with teeth believe it or not (though they are sometimes removed as they can be very loose)other than those rarities babies tend to teeth anywhere between 3/4mths and over 1 year old! My ds started getting red cheeks, grumpy, chewing everything, dodgy bottom etc around 4/5 months but was 91/2 mths before anything actually arrived.

LoveMyGirls · 16/08/2006 10:05

my dd2 has just got her 1st 2 teeth and her first one came about 3 weeks ago we had a few sleepless nights then she was ok until the next one and thats been about a week and half of sleepless nights!

kid · 16/08/2006 10:07

DD was 11 months.
DS was 5 months.

orangegiraffe · 16/08/2006 10:10

Thankyou kid, you have reassured me that ds2 isnt the only one with no teeth yet, he is 10 months and all his other playmates in nusery around the same age have 3 or 4 teeth already.
I was starting to worry

CaptainDippy · 16/08/2006 10:49

DD1 was 23 months She is 30 months now and still only has 12 - bless!

DD2 was about 10 months-ish when she got her front 2 - she is 15 months now and still no sign of any more.....

Hopefully it'll be while yet nappyaddict!!

Exactly 6 months (on new years day so New Year=New Tooth)

blueshoes · 16/08/2006 22:15

9 months. But dd teeths months before anything shows, during and months after the tooth has broken through the gums. Lovely. At almost 3, I am still waiting for 4 back molars.

hunkermunker · 16/08/2006 22:16

DS2 got his last Sunday! He's seven months old on Friday. DS1 got his at nearly 6mo.

bramblina · 16/08/2006 22:28

6months and 10 days. Quite textbook for us!

justamum · 16/08/2006 23:27

textbook for my ds too, at about 61/2months. I remember as i was going back to work the next day and was so upset because he was grumbly and miserable, then lo and behold it appeared. He only ever got them 2 at a time after that and actually got 4 of his molars all at once. ouch!

nappyaddict · 17/08/2006 00:42

yeah i once knew a baby who got his first little white lines at 6 weeks ... poor mother!

My ds got his first 2 when he was 25 weeks. He had 8 by 7 months.

LIZS · 17/08/2006 08:00

just before 5 months.

Littlefish · 17/08/2006 08:35

DD got her first two at 4.5 months. She then had 16 by the time she was a year old (all but the back molar on each side). She's now 21 months and we're still waiting for those last 4.

How old is your step-neice?

archiesmummy · 17/08/2006 11:10

DS got his firts 2 (bottom ones) a couple of weeks before 6 months.

CartoonGirlfriend · 17/08/2006 11:21

DD was 4 months when cut the first two bottom ones. Now 8 months and has 6 in all.

sunandmoon · 17/08/2006 12:48

DD had her first tooth at 4 months old. And it just hasn't stopped, she is 13 months old now and has got 16 teeth. The most painful ones were 2 back molars which came out within few days apart about 15 days ago. She couldn't eat for 5 days, drooling constantly, uspset tummy.. but drinking a huge amount of water!!!

LaTutteuse · 17/08/2006 12:49

captaindippy!

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/08/2006 12:50

DS2 was 11 months and at 16 months still only has 6. he has been teething for EVER and is always chewing on his hands

sophiewd · 18/08/2006 16:12

today, 3 days before dd turns 7 months

nappyaddict · 19/08/2006 02:01

she's 7 months

OP posts:
poopy · 19/08/2006 02:15

DS was 8 and a half months
DD was 9 and a half months

DS showed no 'teething' signs for his first 6 teeth. He only had 6 until he was 18 months old and then he got 10 in the space of 3 months and it was HELL!

DD was much more considerate ... started a bit later but got them evenly spaced out (time wise I think it was one every couple of weeks) ... she had no real teething issues though - apart from a yukky nappy for a day or so before each tooth. I don't know if her dummy helped though - she would chomp down on it quite a lot when teething.

Nemo1977 · 19/08/2006 08:03

DS was exactly 6mths.
DD was 7 and half months

Both of them seem to cut in pairs[although dd only has 2 at the min]
