Hi when my dd was poorly with a cold last month tried Medised which is paracetamol with decongestant in it, which has a side effect of making babies drowsy! Other mums I know swear by this for teething. Try it, it helped my little one sleep, with no after effects.

I have you A&P powders for several different children with no adverse reactions.

It could be coincidence or she just could not like them.

What other teething remedies have you tried?

bonjella and calpol, maybe ill go and get some medised for when we're desperate at 3am again thanks

just read up on the net about it and it says not to give to under 2's without advice of a doctor

My two ds's had A&P under two, but was half a sachet I think. Never had any problems here. My neighbour's little dd also had one without problem. So to here your dd2 had problems. Do you think baby she has something else too as well as teething?

LoveMyGirls · 14/08/2006 19:24

i mean medised is over 2 unless advice of doctors.

A&P made her sick - well i think so.

aagh. having a thick day here. Normally found a&p calmed upset tummies. At a loss really. Stick with Calpol and check temperature. Had she had anything else new?? to eat etc etc. Not much help I now, but having posted last night, feel somewhat responsible since she may have had a reaction to A&P.

lilymolly · 14/08/2006 19:49

Yeah just checked web site for info RE medised, and yes says not to be used in under 2s without doctors advice, but label on bottle says 3 months! but anyway, your choice, but I have never had any probs with it and pharmacist told me to use it to help clear dd stuffy nose, dd was 6 months old at time.

Alibaldi, dont feel bad, she's been quite good today just been sick not ill in herself iykwim. we didnt give her any nurofen yesterday as we ran out so i gave her some before bed and im hoping by giving her nurofen it will help us tonight.

ill see how we get on tonight if still no better i will take her to the docs tomorrow and ask about medised.

If the A&P has made her sick then is she lactose intolerant, as they are in a lactose base?

LoveMyGirls · 14/08/2006 21:05

i dont know about that she hasnt ever had anything with lactose in i dont think?

Milk has lactose in it, so I'd be surprised if she hasn't had any yet . Just thought that maybe she was intolerant and you didn't realise that the A&P had lactose in them.

LoveMyGirls · 15/08/2006 11:14

lol silly of me, i did think that but then was thinking of lactolose (sp?) which is to relieve constipation so thought i was getting confused. no she isnt intolerant to milk though she doesnt like it at all.

dd2 is now the proud owner of 2 teeth! she slept right through last night with only 2.5 ml of nurofen to help her with the pain, she must have cut it the night before though and we hadnt noticed it yesterday. maybe we'll get a few nights of peace now until the next one cuts through!

Great, so sounds like it was the teeth and not the A&P powders making her tummy upset.
