Why does baby DD do this?!

Every night when I put DD to bed she lies awake and wriggles and breathes really really fast for a good 40mins plus before she drops off. She has reflux and CMPI but we have it pretty much under control and she doesn't usually cry at bedtime anymore so I don't think she's in pain but something's obviously bothering her. Any ideas?!

Oops and she's 11 weeks old

Tbh just very jealous you can put her down. For at least the first 4 months ( if not longer) if I put ds down anywhere at all he cried inconsolably. Wish I could offer more advice! Maybe ask HV but they are strange little things with irregular breathing patterns a first which s what he Sid advice is about an adult being in the room for 6 mo whenever they sleep to help regulate.

Haha yep counting my blessings! She won't be put down for naps but we seem ok for bedtime (fingers crossed!)

Course you can! DD had severe eczema all over her body within the first couple of weeks of her life, plus persistent congestion, obvious stomach pain and major reflux (I'm talking projectile - they checked her for pyloric stenosis, it was that violent) so GP suggested a 2 week trial dairy free. I read it can take longer to see definite results so did a month - anyway eczema calmed right down and reflux is no longer projectile, just normal occasional spit up. She doesn't scream for hours anymore either. She had a skin prick test that showed swelling with CMP, but I'm also told it's actually too early for that to be a definite allergy as apparently at this age they quite often get false positive reactions to things. Either way, definite CMPI, possible CMPA. Hope that helps

Thank you very much. Did your dr perform the skin prick test? My dd has many of those symptoms too. I have a Drs appt today do am going to ask if they can do a test and prescribe a hypo allergenic formula.

No we had to go to a clinic. Hope your doc can help - they may want you to see a specialist paediatrician/dietitian before they prescribe hypo formula. Good luck
