Any body had a ventouse delivery and felt it effected their child mentally?

Cam you explain a little more what you are asking. What age child?

My son was born by ventose 18 years ago, he's been challenging to say the least but I never connected that to his delivery....

My first son was born by ventouse. No effects down the line.

Ds was delivered by ventouse. He's now nearly 12yo. I don't think it's affected him. Why do you ask?

maillotjaune · 27/02/2014 23:21

My DS3 is only 4 but he is very similar in terms of development at same stage as DS1 who had an unassisted delivery so no concerns here.

Agree with others - can you expand a bit? I had ventouse when my ds (dc1) was born. Not sure what you are 'looking for' for us to comment upon.

Nope. DS1 was hoiked out with the ventouse and other than a funny shaped head for a bit, he's been fine. Now 5.5, easiest baby of all mine. Unless of course you are suggesting that there is a link between ventouse and endless whingeing in which case I'd be handing DS1 over as a case study...
