My 5 year old ds is very cuddly and loving, but is prone to hitting us, his brother and his friends. He is due to start school in 2 weeks and I'm worried he will hit children in the playground, and get a name for himself. Am I the mother of a bully?

No! When my son did this, I eventually worked out he was copying his Aunty's 'playfights'. Gave him time out after time out and in a couple of weeks he stopped.

He's definitely not playing in any way. He can be really angry and violent. His speech was a bit slow, and it's almost as if he can't communicate his anger, and lashes out. We always time him out if he hits at home, but to no avail as yet.....

Maybe it's frustration because of his inability to communicate?

I dont think hes a "bully" and please dont worry about him starting school too much, you could have a quick word with the head, his new teacher or the school senco,im sure they will be able to help.
