ds3 (11months and 2 weeks!) has pronounced the official wallop first word..."Edgar" (our cat). he pointed and said "Edgar there" just now!

other unusual first words plese (excluding mama dada)

DD's sirst work other than the usual mummy and daddy, was tractor. There was always one parked in the next door house when she was tiny.

I always think it is funny the importance given to the word Duck for pre schoolers - its harldy an important topic of conversation in adult lIfe1

Can't remember what dd1 and dd2 said first, but ds1 and ds2 ( 27m age gap) both said the same thing "whassat?". I remember thinking at the time how odd it was that they both chose that to say as their first "word".

Can't really remember dd's first words, but ds's were up and get down. Dp has also taught him to say "who are ya" when the footie is on

Ds1's first word - baba, ie himself - came before the usual mama dadda stuff. Ds2 clearly says "that" when he's pointing to something that he wants to know the name of.

ds1 first word was "ball"
he has said it ever since with foot in front of it

ds1's very first word at 7 or 8 months was caterpillar. not very unusual and he did the normal daddy etc (no mummy) Then he stopped talking- his last word being garden.

When he started talking again they were weird. Early favourites were trapezium, divided by and equals. Still no mummy (nanig is the closest we get). Actually yes and no would be useful as well

probably "woof" for ds and dd, but memory a bit hazy...ds used to say "dick dup" a lot, meaning he wanted to be "picked up"

my 1st was purple, at about 10 ,onths very weird?
My dd now said tea at about 9 mths, pointed and said tay!!
she says it loads now, shes fascinated at the ritual and helps make it now at 16 mths!
