Should 11 month olds have full blown tantrums?

My dd is 11 months and over the last couple of weeks has started having full on toddler type tantrums (throwing herself on the floor, kicking her feet, banging her head and SCREAMING)if she can't get her own way or if something doesn't happen the way she wants it to.

Has anyone else had this? Is it normal for a baby her age?

More importantly, does this mean she's going to be a nightmare toddler?

Having had a very placid, laid back ds first time round, this is a bit of a shock!!

Wanted to answer your title with "No. They should not. How dare they!"

Can you tell I have an 11mo?! She is very vocal if she doesn't like something or get what she wants. Her best friend is 3 weeks younger and just started screaming if he doesn't get his own way. Hoping for all our sakes it is just a phase. Good luck, may the force be with you!

Thanks, MrsAnt. I do keep telling her that she's not old enough to be doing it, but does she take any notice?!

I'm convinced she thinks she's actually 2, like her brother and all his friends and I can't seem to persuade her otherwise.
