My son is 13yrs, I secretly read his messages on phone, etc (some people might not agree with this - but each to their own).
I've discovered that he tells his friends loads of lies! Also, with girls, he lies for what I can only describe as getting sympathy from them.

Last week I was really disturbed by what I read - him and a girl talking about cutting themselves, then in amongst his toiletries I found one of my knives. I did confront him about the knife ( I used to self harm) and he just kind of dismissed it. When I mentioned my own self harming he got upset.
I'd like to think he knows he can talk to me about anything - I tell him all the time.
I do have him booked into the docs on wed just in case, but would love to know your experiences with it.
