confusing left and right hands...

My dd confuses her left and right hands more than other children - she is six.

Is this associated with other problems?

It can be associated with dyslexia, but obviously by itself doesn't mean she is dyslexic.

Am sure its just one of those confuddling things like sometimes when you forget how to spell a really easy word.

cant see why it would be personally. You could teach her to make the "L" shape with the forefinger and thumb of her left hand and (assuming she's right handed) remind her that she writes with her right

Can she use her left or right hand the same? Or does she just confuse which is her left hand and which is her right hand if she's talking about them?
My 6yo doesn't know her left from her right at all. It's pot luck if she guesses the correct one. However, she does use her right hand for most things and so is right-handed.
I'm not sure why it's something to be worried about either way.

She is writes with her right hand but uses either for sports.

When all the children are asked to raise their right hands, it is always only mine who gets it wrong!

She finds reading difficult too...I will pass on the Jampots method, see if that helps!

I think that is great that she uses both hands for sport, thats a talent to be encouraged. She might just be ambidextrous (you know where a child can use both hands equally?) I am left handed, but I eat right handed and play sport right handed. It means being able to play better than others! ;0)

Dyspraxia can be related to a lack of hand dominance (was she late deciding which to write with?). Also does she have any other sequencing or motor skill difficulties ?
