Children's tablets

Hi, DD (4.5) had a Kurio tablet but hasn't got on with it very well (not helped by my inability to use the complicated Kurio store!).
So I have a refund and have approx £100 to spend to replace it. What she uses it for:

  • books (ones they read to her at the moment)
  • games (but predominantly Disney Princess ones like dress up - not things like chase the water)
  • watching Angelina Ballerina episodes
  • phonics and maths apps plus things like dot to dot

I've looked at the leappad Ultra but the reviews seem to say the processing is very slow and the games/ apps are very expensive. It appeals because of all the Disney stuff advertised with it (she has embraced the Disney princess stage with abandon!!).
I am considering getting her a Hudl - concerns - I have no experience of Android things and don't know how to set up parental controls.
What do you think?

Ds3 (7.5) has a HUDL and loves it. My friends son works in a pc shop nd said it was the best for the money. His teenaged brothers have set up the parental controls as I am useless. He has some educational apps, plays Minecraft and watches sponge-bob and a CBBC pirate programme (can't remember what it's called). He can't get some of the school things on it. I think it's to do with a flash player? He has a bumper thing to protect it which is really good but I'm no gadget expert.

DD has a nook HD (bargain at £52) and its bloody amazing. easy to use, and all the apps we downloaded for her are free from Play Store - loads more to choose from as well....and they are free!! you can pay for some apps but tbh there's plenty to choose from in the "free" section

p.s she can also use it better than me....and she's 3! x
