Hi, I have a 10 month old boisterous little boy. He loves soft play and other baby groups, but he can be a bit unintentionally rough with he other babies. Today, he tried to pull a little boys hair, and patted a little boys head a tiny bit too hard ( he's got a toy drum he likes hitting, but thinks he can do that in general ! ) in the past he's poked a little girl in the eye and made her cry, and he just barges through the babies instead of crawling round!. I know he doesn't quite understand, but I really don't know how to tell/show him not to do this when he's still so young. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any ideas? Thanks!x

When my daughter is a bit rough and we ask her to be gentle, we accompany the request by demonstrating "gentle" on her, eg by stroking her head, hand or arm while saying "gentle". She usually responds by being a bit more delicate (until she gets excited amd forgets).

I started doing this when she was about 9 months and started really pinching me when feeding, it seems to work fairly well. Could you try something similar?
