3 year old night waking - help!

My DS has never been the best sleeper. We had worked incredibly hard to get him sleeping through and until recently he was only waking once in the night (to use the potty - I have no issue with him waking us for this).

Over the last few weeks though he's started having a few hours through the night where he's so unsettled - he's up for various different reasons and none of them are actual issues - he wanted a hug, he wanted Daddy to sleep in his room (never happens!), he wanted someone to wash his dummy etc.

Me and DH are seriously struggling - I'm 35 weeks pregnant and he's having to do most of the overnight grunt work as my PGP simply can't cope with getting out of bed and back in so many times!! Please can anyone offer any advice / words of wisdom to fix this???

We had some success with the Gro Clock at this age - it took a month or so to show results... and what really sorted it out was dc2 arriving which instantly led to me being VERY firm about night waking Wink
