Dd1 is very smart. Lives learning, counting alphabet wtc. But as dd2 isn't on the same development level, she copies what dd2 says (as in starting to not count properly like she can, or scribbles when she can draw things.)

Do you praise dd2 a lot? Maybe that's how she thins she can get your approval?

When she does something, why not try taking an interest eg what was your favourite bit of drawing etc to encourage her to draw as she could. And ignore the mimicking.

We're constantly encouraging and praising both. If not dd1 more as she's doing more things at the minute (learning numbers, new things at school, making pretend dinners in her kitchen, noticing shapes letters etc.)

I would ignore then. My ds occasionally does this but we ignored and he doesn't anymore.
