Is my baby growing too fast?

Hi all
I made the mistake of looking on the internet and as usual all the scary stuff came up which has made me worry. My baby was 9lb12 when he was born and is now 15lb at 6 weeks. He is growing fast and already too long for some 0-3mth clothes. I am worried his growth is too fast and may be an indication that he is more likely to get some nasty diseases as he develops. Does anyone have any experience of this or know anymore about it?

What centile is he on?

My DD was born on the 50% but then quickly jumped to 90th then increased to 96th. She now stays steady around the 96th. She's perfect just big.

Is he breastfed?

Babies don't always stay on the centile they were born on - moving up or down by 2 centiles is normal. If the move is more than that then it's worth getting him checked and looking at feeding, but generally exclusively breastfed babies can't be overfed.

My ds grew at a simalar rate, he was massive at 6 months but now at 12 months he is average, he has only put 2 pounds on in 6 months.

all my kids were born small piled on massive amounts of weight and then lost it when the really began walking i really wouldn't worry about it for the first year or two x
