When do boys start having wet dreams? How explain it to them?

My DS's nearly nine, and woke up the other morning a bit baffled and confused because his PJs were wet but he hadn't wet himself. He said it had happened once before. Not being a bloke myself and not having one about, I was a bit wrong-footed by this one and told him I'm sure it's perfectly normal and just showed he was growing up. My discrete rush to Google for advice was thwarted by my rubbish (Talktalk) internet connection and undoubtedly an inappropriate search request.

Any top tips for explaining this to him and is this really when it all starts happening (my god, I'll have to get him a razor for Christmas and he's only about 4' tall)?

Get him a copy of What's Happening to Me? and read it yourself before you hand it over, so that you know how to answer questions.

Great recommendation. I'm buying the other one for my daughters ...
