hello all

i really am at my wits end, my son is throwing the biggest tantrums and strops when i say no to something. he really believes he is an adult and anything me or dad have he thinks he should have too!! i know its my own fault as up until last year we had been very unsettled and had moved around alot and i gave in to his demands then as i felt guilty for not giving him a stable life. now we have stability and everything is well in our lives im trying to rein him in which is obviously now a harder, tougher job than i thought!!!
he is a fantastic kid and very loving and brilliant with his little sister but if i refuse him something he back chats and starts crying and stropping which in turn makes me cross and then he gets put in his room and i sit and sob downstairs!!!
please help me restore the happy vibes!!!!
thanks
esther

I just got a book i heard recommended on MN, "how to talk so that kids will listen", maybe a book like that would help?
