Mine still needs a nap very occasionally, Ive noticed since he stopped napping regularly that his behaviour has become awful. I think he still needs one to two naps a week to be honest.

my 3 year old won't nap until at least 3pm, and if he does then he'll be up until nearly 10pm -in the evening. I let him do this maybe once a week but for me if rather he didn't nap at all. at nursery here in France all children up to age five are expected to nap in the afternoon! but they generally eat dinner after 7pm and go to bed around 9pm so even older children need that time to keep going.

Now all this week she's got a new wake up call of anywhere from 5:45-6:30. Plus been waking up walking into our room twice a night when she usually sleeps like a log! At least until 7am!

She still won't nap, fourth day of preschool and the tiredness but she'll keep going! Until she'll have a few days of just being sad

That does sound like overtiredness. Perhaps a nap a couple of times a week?

iamaredsmartie · 16/01/2014 08:19

Dr1 dropped her nap at 19 months, Dd 2 at 17 months. Good night sleepers both of them though

SuckItAndSee · 16/01/2014 08:29

she naps some days - maybe 2-3 times a week?
we wake her after 30mins though, as otherwise she'd be up until midnight

she hasn't napped at nursery from about 15mo though, which IMO has
sort of protected her nap on the other 4 days, as she's more tired.

littleraysofsunshine · 16/01/2014 13:43

She will not let herself go. She's sat on the sofa yawning but her mind is constantly thinking of what we can do next lol

Still not naps in the day. And she went to bed at 7:30, but then wakes up at 4;40! Can't work out what's going on

It must be different for everyone my 3yo hasn't napped since she was just two! She sleeps very well at night so this helps

littleraysofsunshine · 24/01/2014 14:51

Well with the 5:30/45 wake ups and no naps it's now resulted in her being miserable at preschool. Teacher said today that she's refused to sit down at snack. (Ever since her sleep has changed) before she was so happy. And now she ran out crying today Confused

No, not unless we're on a long car journey. DS dropped his naps quite early (before 2 IIRC).
