I vaguely remember when my LO was a baba someone telling me that shops will only measure your toddlers feet for their first shoes after they have been walking for a month.. Is this true?

Sort of... If the child is cruising rather than walking I think they are likely to recommend cruising shows with a softer sole.

IceNoSlice · 12/01/2014 07:23

But I think they will still measure them.

IHatePopUpTents · 12/01/2014 07:24

They would rather only do it after a month..

Any reason you'd want them in shoes earlier? My dd has been walking for 3 months now, 1 month with shoes, and she's only just been confident to take her first steps outside! Having shoes on even clarks! are really bad for their ditty feet developement

Bakerof3pudsxx · 12/01/2014 07:25

I think that's right too

Ds2 was measured for shoes with a softer bottom am the cruising stage

My dd was measured when she was properly walking and we sti bought the cruiser shoes, we tried proper shoes on her and she literay couldn't lift her feet! So try a few pairs on!

Poptarts same here - DS just got his first pair of 'proper' ie not cruiser shoes at 17mo as the cruiser ones seemed more comfy when he was still switching between crawling and walking a lot. He's been walking/running for ages now. There's no rush.
