Fear of Bath/plug hole - screaming 2.4 year old

Help.... my LO (2.4 yrs) has started freaking out in the bath.
About 2 weeks ago, 5 mins into a bath she started screaming and demanding I get her out. This has slowly got worse, to the point, she lasts about 1 min in the bath then starts screaming, wants to get out and now throws herself out of the bath. She has bruised her legs quite a bit and is really distraught and shaking, but calms down within 2 mins of being out of the bath.
it appears to be the plug hole that is causing the fear. We have tried getting in the bath, showers, covering it up, toys, games.
we have just started introducing the potty into the bathroom and intend to start full on potty training tomorrow...... have thought there maybe a link to her behaviour, but she really does seem fixated with the actual plug and watching the water go down it, rather than the potty or weeing in the bath.
any advice? similar incidents? comments appreciated......

my DS is scared that he will go down the plug hole but only when i pull the plug out and water starts going to TBH i use it as a way of getting him out the bath. But i also have to take out all toys before pulling the plug as he's scared they'll go down.

Maybe you could show her how the plug goes in and out and how nothing goes down the plug hole when the plug is in.

My dd was the same at that age. It was only when i explained that she was too big to go down the plug hole herself a few times that her fears were calmed. Good luck
