19 month old walking - concerened

DD has been walking for 3 months. She sat up at 11 months, stood unaided at 14.

She still has not lost the baby walk - very wide gait and falling every 10 steps or so. I have other children who walked between 12-15 months but quickly lost the stumble. She seems very confident, I don't think it's fear but I just feel something isn't right. No other developmental concerns.

I am going to take her to GP for advice, just wondered if anyone had any similar experience.

TIA

I haven't experienced the same but would suggest you ask the GP to check her hips (which I am sure they would do anyway).

My DD has had hip dysplasia and whilst it did not present in this way, it wasn't diagnosed until she started cruising and I mentioned something I'd noticed about the way she was walking to our HV.

Chances are it is nothing and she will lose it before long but in my opinion, worth getting checked out.

Mine didn't walk until 18 months, and was very unsteady on her feet until about 20 months, or even later. She's fine now - 3 years old.

Thank you both, chalky she had a hip scan at birth it was routine in our area for girls born after term + 10 so no issues there are far as I am aware.
