Three-year-old doesn't want to get out of bed!

Is this normal? My son has not long turned three and in the last few days he just doesn't want to get out of bed. He's never been a particularly early riser and I suspect is like his dad who takes a while to "boot" in the morning. He is currently saying he wants to stay in bed all day! He's not poorly as far as I can tell.

Nothing constructive to add, but this sounds just like my 3 yr old DS so I'll join you it waiting to see what we can do about our getting out of bed refusers Grin

I have a DD like this. She'll sleep late unless her brother wakes her, takes a good 10 minutes to rev up an is moody until she's been awake a good 30 minutes.

Maybe they'll be sprightly things that leap out of bed at dawn once they're teenagers?!

Nothing to add but did you want to swap? :o

You cannot put 'teenagers' and the words ' leaping out of bed' in the same sentence. It's not natural and does not happen ( not of their own accord anyway).

Gileswithachainsaw Grin - I should be grateful that he doesn't leap out of bed at 6am!

I'm torn between leaving him in bed for as long as he wants whilst having some time alone with DD (although I worry about his bladder as although he still has a nappy at night it's nearly always dry in the morning) or setting a particular time at which he has to get up.
