3 year old still sleeps in our bed

Hi all, Our 3 year old still sleeps with us in our bed. We really want to move him into his own bed and plan to do it this month. A lot of people have said to me don't do it until you are fully ready, but in all honesty I don't think I ever will be. I had really bad PND and had him in with me Moses basket as was terrified he would die if he wasn't beside me. I am well now and I now he will be fine but I am so used to him being close. But i want him to in his own bed for the normality and independence. We are also trying for baby No.2 so be better he was in his own room.

Anyone give any advice when we got for it???

Thanks

Mine is 11 and although in his own bed now I can guarantee before morning I'll wake up with him next to me :). I'm being flippant, I do realise it's different when you're a mum and dad. I guess my point is, don't beat yourself up
, enjoy every minute but do what you have to do to make it right for you and your husband. Be strong and remember it's perfectly normal that he sleeps on his own bed. Good luck

My DD is 5 and still sleeps with us! Grin We have an older dd who dumped us at about age 5....doesn't bother us. We like it....DH gets too hot and goes off into DDs bed...he's happy with this though and so am I. DD will move out when she's ready. No advice...only perhaps you could try having a "sleepover" in his bed?
