Fist sucking

At what ages did your LOs start to suck their fingers for comfort?

My 8 week old DD has recently started sucking her fists loads! I know this can indicate a sign of hunger and whilst that may be the case on some occasions I'm pretty sure not on all of them. I also believe it can be a sign of teething too.

Am hoping its a comfort thing as personally would prefer her to find her thumb/fingers as opposed to a dummy, but just wondered of she's too young??

DS1 & 2 both started this at about 3 months old. Before then they'd only been sucking fingers when hungry, but that was the sort of age when they moved onto sucking fingers for comfort as well.

Offer milk. If she doesn't want it, she's comfort sucking- if she does, she wasn't.

I'm honestly not being a smartarse here- it's just really really easy to overthink tiny babies. Generally they want milk and the best thing to do is give it to them. That's what all other animals do!
