'Smashing teeth'

DS (14 mnth) - has just fallen over and smashed his 2 (only 2!) top teeth onto the garden wall. He's sort of grated the tip of the teeth off (can see the track on the wall). DH pursuaded me to just take him to the dentist tomorrow.

I'm now having visions of him spending the next 8 years with no front teeth - any one had a smiliar experience with teeth that have lasted?!

Oh that must have been scary leggymamba- was he very distressed? I don't know much about teeth, I'm afraid but I'd have thought that taking him to the dentist would be the perfect solution. I hope he's ok. They do look very cute with no front teeth, I think. One of my 7 year olds has a big gap at the moment.

Hi leggymamba

My DS (15 months) chipped his front left tooth on our laminate floor last week. Was horrible but luckily he's fine. We have a dent on our laminate floor, so it must have been hard. We took him to dentist and even the dentists 2 yer old had chipped his tooth too!. It wasn't wobbly and the chip missed the nerve. I wouldn't worry. If any serious damage was done I'm sure you would have known about it

Dentis will reassure you I'm sure.

oh i know it is horrible !
dd1 was forever smashing her mouth on the floor and loosened both of her front teeth ,dentist said she would probably lose them so we kept waiting for it to happen and it never did.

ds did the same at the same sort of age. Funnily enough hi teeth through grinding and general use have now planed themselves straight-the jagged edges that were so noticable are no longer there.
I was distraught at the time!
