3yo exuberance gets him in trouble

Any advice on how to manage it? He's a good child - likes to please and thrives on praise, articulate, mainly polite - but it seems he can't contain himself and its been getting him into trouble. He gets so excited he flicks his hands and fingers in people's faces, jumps on other children...and today there's been a constant round of hitting. It doesn't seem to be malicious (in that he doesn't deliberately hurt) its more a by-product of his overwhelming excitement

My DSis has suggested a jar that we put pebbles in to reward good/more controlled behaviour. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Does he get plenty of exercise? I have 4 yr old twin boys and they need a good run every day!

Show him what he should do. Repeat ad infinitum.

Also get DH to wrestle with him - good for him to get energy out and he can teach him about physical boundaries.
