Defiant 3 year old - will 123 magic help?

Overnight my son has become angry, shouty and defiant. It's exhausting. I use warnings and he is definitely 'carrot not stick' personality.

Will 123 Magic be useful?

Watching I ordered it today as need some tactics with my feisty shouty 2.8 year old DD.
Feel out of my depth.

We use this -it's great. TBH I only read a bit of the book and we only do the "that's one, that's two..." bit and not the other strategies mentioned but it has been a life saver! When it seems to be less effective we realise that we're not doing it properly eg. we're giving DD second chances. It is so clear for her to understand, just tonight I said "that's one" and she clambered off her sister!! It's so simple and effective and takes any emotion/panic out of situations. Go for it - good luck!

Yes, we use this with DD and have since she was about 3 and a bit. Also defiant. It's great when you remember to do it. She did go through a phase of telling DH and I 'there's a new rule in this house...' and 'counting' us. But mostly it's very effective.
