Separation anxiety?

Hello all. I'm at my wits end and really need some advice/support. My 17 week old won't settle in his cot. I started out co-sleeping with him, he wouldn't settle in his Moses basket and I was slowly losing my sanity so fed him in bed and I would get some light sleep.
We decided to transfer him to a cot by our bed at around 8 weeks. He was fine at first although would only settle on the breast then I'd move him to his cot.
Since then he has spent some nights in our bed, he had a cold and our boiler was broken for a week but he moved back to cot ok.
At 15 weeks we moved him to his room, we felt he was ready as he was settling well at bedtime but would be disturbed by us. For a few nights he was content in his room but for the last 4/5 nights he has been waking and won't settle again for at least 2 hours. And tonight he screams as soon as we put him down. Like all parents me and my husband Google and read various advice but none of it works :(
A few things you might need to know are; he is yet to sleep through, he normally wakes 2/3 times a night for feeding. He is breastfed during day, formula at night. He is currently teething (or appears to be)

You posted on my thread so I googled the 4 month sleep regression to refresh my memory...so wish I hadn't!

I can't even remember when ds started getting really bad with sleep but it has definitely been weeks now. I can totally sympathise. I thought moving him to his own space would sort it, having him in his own room, starting him on solids etc etc would be magical cures like other mums say they are but no such luck.

I have decided to embrace this regression and try to help him through it. Hopefully he will start to get better and then I'll try again at putting him in his cot in the nursery connected onto our room.

I worry that I'll never get uninterrupted sleep again, who knows how I'm going to survive going back to work in June!
