Over tiredness???!?

I'm pretty sure the reason my 6 wk old DD is so unsettled is cause she's overtired. But how on earth do you deal with that????

She has no problem sleeping on me (or others) but as soon as you put her down she'll cry.

Have wedges t-shirts of mine at sides of basket, settle her with a dummy but nothing works.

Tried letting her cry earlier but its SOOOOO hard to listen to it for too long that I have in and picked her up.

Am out in our local park now and - naturally - she's sparko from being in the pram. Prior to that I had I take her out her basket as she just wouldn't settle but it was clear she is overtired as between the back-of-the-throat-crying she stops for a minute or two and falls asleep before crying again.

Any advice pretty please????

She's so tiny, yes if she's awake more than 45 mins ish at a time she probably is over tired.

Will she sleep in the pram when it stops moving? You could ways head to a coffee shop, often the background noise helps them sleep.

Is letting her sleep on you an option? Don't let the "rod for your own back" crew spoil these early weeks. Get settled on the sofa with some DVDs and let her sleep where she feels safe, cuddling her mummy

I'm having lunch in a cafe and my 18 week old is sleeping for the first time since 530am Shock. (Adjusts matchsticks)

You could try a sling, if you get a ' 'stretchy' like a Moby you can pre tie then just pop her in and out throughout the day and usually once they're asleep you can sit down and have a cuppa Smile. You could try a sling library so you can try before you buy.

Have you tried a swing or vibrating bouncy chair or rocking her in the pram indoors?

Have you tried swaddling, it was the startle reflex that woke my DD when I put her down.

I hope something works, its so hard when they are tired but fighting itHmm
