2 year old sleep

My dd is just 2 and recently her sleep needs seem to have reduced quite a lot and I wondered this is common at this age?

Up until a couple of months ago her rough routine was:
Wake - 6.30/7
Nap 1-2.30
Bed - 6.45. Asleep by 7.15

Now she is waking earlier and really needs an earlier nap. She then takes longer to fall asleep at night. So her routine is now

Wake - 6ish
Nap - 12.30-1.45/2
Bed - 7.15 but does not fall asleep until 7.45 or a little later.

Does this seem like enough sleep for a just 2 year old? Nothing I does seems to make any difference even though she seems quite tired at times throughout the day.

I have three children who all had (and still have) completely different sleep patterns. I think your DD is just going through normal phases of development. She may change again... children are like that.

Sounds about right, though obviously the early waking is annoying. For a very long time DD would happily have a nap within 2-3 hours of waking up. Now she wakes at about 7.30, has a 45-60 minute nap after lunch, and is generally asleep by 8.

She still has periods of being quite tired now she's dropped to one nap (and won't make it long) so I just try and ride through them - sometimes she just needs a little bit of food, other times it's twenty minutes reading a book or watching some TV to chill out and relax. We've also started the winddown to bedtime a bit earlier, so from 6pm things are very chilled, Night Garden etc.

If she's sleeping through the night and waking up naturally then I'd say she is happy.

Hi OP here. Dd has now started waking at about about 5 ish, cutting her nap short by about 20 mins to just 1 hr and then taking ages to fall asleep at night. I put her down at 7 but shet doesn't sleep until just before 8.
I really don't understand why she is cutting all this sleep out. Her sleep has got progressively less over the last few months and then she's now cut about another 1.5-2 hrs out.
Any ideas of what I can do to help?

My dd doesn't go to sleep until 9pm. Ds used to be 10pm at that age, but school seems to have brought sleep time forward at 8:30pm.

They both wake up at 6ish but when I was working it was 5:15am everyday. When I stopped working in a few months it had gone from 5:15 to 6.

Thank you. I wouldn't mind so much and I would out her to bed later it's just she's tired by 11.30 am and then gets tired by about 5.30 again. It doesn't seem like she's having enough sleep but I'm not sure how to help, if I even can!?
