hi, i'm just about at the end of my tether with my 3 year old dd, she has fought me every step of the way, and has been having the so called terrible two's since she was 18 months old. So i'm putting this post on here out of desperation really, our main problem is, if she doesn't want to do something then she just won't do it and getting any sort of cooperation out of her often turns into a battle. THings like going to the toilet in the morning, washing hands, getting dressed, you name it and she won't want to do it. We've tried every strategy going so far, naughty step, time out, ignoring bad behaviour, praising good behaviour, star charts, marbles as a reward to fill a small jar etc, but in short nothing works. She has now started hitting me and I just don't know what to do, can anyone suggest anything? Thanks. x

Have you watched any of The 3 Day Nanny on C4? I found some of the tips useful. It's over now but might still be on 4OD online.

How long have you tried the more positive methods? Because they take time.

Also you need to pick your battles. Don't come down on her for every thing.
