It's a sad, sad day when they stop having naps.
My just turned 4 yr old stopped about 6 months ago. Then we had a bit of a blip when he started nursery school and was tired after school. We went to day nursery after school and they insisted he had a nap because he was tired.

We had a bloody nightmare at bedtime, where he wasn't settling until after 10 pm, making him more tired the next day. We had to break the cycle and told nursery not to put him down for a nap. He was tired at bed time and settled easily, he soon got back into his usual routine.

I used to love the golden 2 hrs between 1-3 pm which used to be nap time Sad

My 3.6 yo doesn't nap at nursery anymore, but regularly falls asleep in the car if we're out in the middle of the day. He still seems to need it to some extent, I think he gets very tired on nursery days (3 a week) and just needs that extra catch up still. We don't out him down at home anymore though, unless he's obviously shattered. Doesn't have any major impact on night time sleep, unless he drops off in the car late afternoon, which we try very hard to avoid.

DS1 is 3.9. He naps most days for up to an hour, I always have to wake him. If he naps he goes to bed at 8pm, if no nap he goes at 7.15. On fridays he stays up late (10pm) so I let him nap till he wakes, sometimes upto 3 hours. I'm hoping he can manage without by the time he starts school!

Very jealous of all these napping and sleeping at night children Envy
