At 18mo DD was in that awkward transition from two naps down to one.
On a good day I could keep her up til 11.30, give her an early lunch and she would go down 12-2.30. On a bad day she would have a nap, 9.30-10.30, then go back down 1.30-3.

Both situations she would sleep 7pm-7am (no wakes).

On the very very rare occasion she didnt nap at all (my mum minding her and 'deciding' she no longer needed a nap), DD would go down at 6pm and wale every two hours through the night.

Sleep begats sleep in her case.

DS is 19mo. A typical day is:
6.30am wake up
12.30pm nap for no longer than 1 hr 30mins
6.30pm bedtime.

He can take up to an hour and a half to settle at bedtime (but only when I put him to bed-when ANYONE else does he goes down like a cherub!)

Dd2 has been having one nap a day( usually 12-2/12:30-2:30. Give or take 20mins.. And lately She goes to bed anywhere from 8:30-9:30. Still wakes once sometimes and comes in with us, will then wake around 7:45am ish.

With bedtime she tends to get "more life in her" when given milk for like an hour then settles... With snuggles and my hair...

I just think sometimes should I try cutting nap down or not but even in the summer months she was doing 2 hours, maybe longer and go down at like 7/7:30. Not 9:30!

If we get up earlier. Like we use to do 6:30/45.. It would just mean she napped at 12 and still had two hours ish, go about 8:30pm

So no idea!

She's very active plus being around big sis who is 3 and goes down earlier with no naps in the day

So are you wanting her to go.to bed earlier? Does she have a bedtime bath? Evidently (ive read) then need to be in bed within 30mins of finishing their bath in.order to not go into a second wind. Try lavender bubble bath, out the bath into snuggly pjs in her room in the dark for milk, then down to bed.

Don't forget teeth after milk!

DD is 20 months but has been in the same routine for the past 10 months

Wakes 9-10am
Nap 12.30/1pm - 3.30/4pm
Bedtime 7.30-8pm.

She likes her sleep and going to bed - like her parents thankfully.

As another poster said above if she doesn't sleep well during the day, she is much more unsettled at night. Its a case of the more sleep she gets, the more she needs.....
