DDs still testing positive for e. coli O157 after 5 weeks...

...has anyone else experienced this? We went to a childrens farm in half term and I suspect that's where they picked it up (despite hand washing etc). It will be 5 weeks tomorrow that they first showed symptoms. Samples taken on 1st December came back positive.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or are there any experts out there with any insight into this? I know it can take several weeks for the bacteria to completely leave a childs system, but I was hoping it would have cleared up by now. DD1 had a negative sample last week but I guess that is superseded by the positive one. Can e. coli keep recurring? We are getting cabin fever...
