DD is 22lbs. I don't know if that's really wee or not as I have no others to compare her to.

So tell me how much your tot weighs please.

DS1 is 2.8 and weighs about 14 kilos which is about 30 pounds I think. My 7 month old DS2 weighs about 18 pounds but he is a chunker!!
Is she roughly following a line on her growth chart? Both mine have always been on a similar line, or centime in their red book (not sure if this is a Scottish thing) should give you an idea of approx what she should weigh.

highlandbird · 01/12/2013 21:29

Centile even!

lilyaldrin · 01/12/2013 21:35

That's fairly small - 22lbs is about 10kg which puts her on the 2nd centile for her age, so 98% of children are heavier. Average is nearer 30lbs.

gaggiagirl · 01/12/2013 21:37

I'll look in her red book good thinking highland. She's happy and healthy so I'm not too worried but I was a bit Shock.

I thought so lily she's 3ft tall too so she's as tall as other toddlers at the nursery but just looks tiny if that makes sense.

She eats lots thank goodness.

My dd is almost 14 months and is 20lb

Your dd does sound tiny, but some children are just naturally very slender

gaggiagirl · 01/12/2013 22:06

Ah my little slender girl. Its no wonder I can still carry her for hours on end she's so light!

my dd is 26lb 10oz and is 14 months, she was a very large baby though!
I know a child her age who is only 16lb but her mum is tiny too.

gaggiagirl · 01/12/2013 22:33

Well I'm tiny (about the size of a borrower) so maybe its all in the genes.

I was gobsmacked earlier about a. 6 month old that was 28lb!

TurnOffTheTv · 01/12/2013 22:36

My two year old weighs less!

wallpaperaddict · 01/12/2013 22:41

My DD is 2.6, she weighs 17kg which I think is about 37lbs! She is also 3ft 3in and is right at the top of the centiles for height and weight. It's a struggle to lift her now tbh!

Duckegg80 · 01/12/2013 22:44

My 2.7 year old is 15.6kgs. He is tall though, like us, and skinny apart from a bit of a belly.

plentyofsoap · 02/12/2013 00:37

My ds was around that. He has always been slim, very active and rarely ill. As he has got older his weight gain increased. He is still slim, its not a negative thing at all.

lunar1 · 02/12/2013 00:48

Ds2 is the same age and 22lbs. Ds1 is 5 and has not got to 3 stone yet. They are very slim but they are full of energy, we are very active and walk miles. They are hardly ever ill. I have learned to relax over it after much reassurance from my HV with ds1!

gaggiagirl · 02/12/2013 12:53

turnoff I read that too! I was shocked!

I feel more reassured now. Glad to hear there is such a mixed bag of weights.

silverangel · 02/12/2013 12:55

DT1 is 19lb and DT2 21lb - 2nd centile last time I checked. They are skinny, but relatively healthy so not trying to stress too much about it.

englishbreakfast · 02/12/2013 22:13

DD is 2.9 and weighs 12kg, which is around 26lb I think.

gaggiagirl · 03/12/2013 14:11

So its not mega uncommon then.

Wouldn't it be marvellous to have the metabolism of our DCs?

Artandco · 03/12/2013 14:15

14kg which is around 30lbs. He was 50% on weight percentile at doctors. And 98% for height.
So tall but slim
