Treasure chest idea for 6mo

6mo DD is getting bored of her toys and I think they're a bit too newborn for her now, but DH doesn't want to get her anything new yet as it's so close to Xmas (tight git!)

I'm thinking I might make a treasure box for her containing lots of interesting objects for her to play with to bridge the gap between now and Xmas but am stumped for ideas. So far I've got a wooden spoon! Any ideas for items that are cheap, safe and will interest a 6mo for more than 5mins?? TIA!

I found a good list - here

Anything you can find around the house that might feel interesting to her really, different than the usual smooth plastic of most toys.

Plastic bowl
Colander
Plastic lid e.g. off polish aerosol (washed out)
pine cones
Dried peas in a shut plastic tub
silky fabric
fluffy fabric
wooden curtain rings

Measuring spoons, anything silicone (eg- spatula, whisk, small cake cases) I made shakers out of used baby food jars with dried pasta or rice in them. Different fabrics. A blank CD.
