11 week old baby won't sleep!

Has anyone got any tips on how to get my 11 week old son to sleep!
He gets overtired very quickly then it's a nightmare!
He's breast fed & he's been investigated for reflux as he gets so unhappy. However meds made NO difference & he's still miserable very quickly. I think he just gets over tired because getting him to fall asleep is impossible!
He hates the car, baby swing etc! I've bought a sling today to see if that helps.
I'm getting exhausted! By the time we reach early evening he goes from breast to breast ( only does 2 mins sucking on each before he cries for the other one & vice versa! He boob hops & screams in between!) for anywhere between 3 & 6 hours!!
Any pearls of wisdom or tips would be appreciated! I'm house bound as he cries so much it's a nightmare to go anywhere. I'm getting really down in the dumps!! Sad

mimi I think you are best asking MNHQ to move this to the breast and bottle section as you will probably get some more experienced posters in there.

You have my sympathy though, my DS was just like this. Which meds is he on and what's the dosage?

Are you getting any RL help? Has he been checked for tongue tie?

If finances allow could you get a milkman, do your shopping online and get a cleaner? These should ease the pressure on you a little Smile

DD was very similar up till 8 Weeks (now 16 Weeks). I've eliminated dairy from my diet & give her Colief before each feed. Both are a complete faff pain in the arse but do seem to have made a difference. I also got very strict with burping which seemed to help with the boob swapping. I love my sling as it gets DD to sleep, but doesn't help with my tiredness!

Hello again, sorry incomplete answer before...
the no-dairy/colief is working for us as it was tummy pain/wind that seemed to be disturbing DD and preventing sleep. we tried gaviscon in case it was silent reflux first but that just made things worse. She still doesn't nap for a long time during day but now the boob hopping evenings are over I've been able to start a bedtime routine and she can sleep 7..30pm-12, dream feed & then thru to 6/7am. It doesn't always work! Good luck!

Lewishamlass
Thank you so much! I eliminated dairy from my diet 4 weeks ago which made a difference ( forgot & accidentally drank a cuppa at a friends with milk.. He was awful hours later!) I'll give the colief a go!
