My 14 month old still doesnt have any teeth at all. How unusual is this? How old was your baby when their first tooth appeared?

around 6months for both of mine but my friends little girl was well over one before her first tooth came through x

Dd1 was 14mo when she got her first tooth. Conveniently, teethed for us on the flight from London to Sydney Hmm

Apparently, if they haven't shown by 18mo you may need to see a dentist, who may get things going.

My son was 14 months when he got his first teeth. We thought they were never going to come. Now nearly two and he still only has a handful.

My uncle is a professor of dentistry and said not to worry until they are 2. Apparently (very rare) some children don't have any teeth at all so that's why you should get it checked out at some stage. But there's nothing you can do about that anyway except get false ones.

On the plus side you don't have to worry about tooth decay yet. And teething is easier when they are older as they can often sleep through it, being heavier sleepers, and it is easier for you to diagnose...

DS3 was 14 and a half months old when his first tooth appeared. we'd been joking that we'd get baby dentures for him!Grin

most of ours are late teethers - DS2 was the quickest at 6 months.

It's uncommon, but it will be fine!

Thanks everyone il worry less now know he's not the only baby to be toothless this late.We have also joked about getting him baby dentures! I have already taken him to the dentist who has told me not to worry but I thought this was so unusual I couldn't help but be concerned. I feel better now thanks everyone x

My 14.5 month old doesnt have any teeth either. Im starting to worry they will never come too ! Just when i think i can feel something or see something, or she is showing classic teething symptoms.....nothing happens.

My dentist said its just one less thing to clean !
