Feeling very very carp about having just used the f-word, as in "its time for you to go to f-ing sleep".
It would seem the boy is dropping his after-lunch nap.
Whilst I don't think its terrible for children to know when their behaviour is upsetting for adults, and to see anger, I deeply regret swearing at him.
Does anyone have any in-the-moment stress release strategies?

It happens. I've done it and came on here to be told, it happens.

Have some Cake and Brew and don't be too hard on yourself.

We have all done it.
I've got ds to 10 years old and just let rip a few weeks ago. "Just do as you are fucking told" I blurted out.
Gutted I did it but I was so frustrated.

We both kind of looked shocked at each other. Then I apologised.

Don't know how I have not sworn at him before now tbh. Spose I tend to mutter under my breath & grit my teeth.

Well if he's still having lunchtime naps then he isn't going to remember what you've said and it wont scar him for life.
