Mine has morning, lunch (for nap) and bed. Thinking about cutting the lunch one in a few months?

We cut out the morning milk first, he still had milk to help him settle for naps and bedtime. Dropped the nap around 2yrs so dropped to one cup of milk a day at that point, just at bedtime.

Morning and before bed at night. We could probably drop the morning one but sometimes if I'm struggling to get ready for work, it buys me an extra 20 minutes of DD chilled in her cot!

NorthEasterlyGale · 07/11/2013 19:54

I offer a BF before bedtime and before naps on the days I don't work (so 5 days a week for the pre-nap feed). Doesn't really take much now though.

Other than that he drinks water - has been the same since I went back to work when he was about 7 months old.

Just morning for my DS, he's not interested any other time vas prefers water!

GiveMeVegemite · 09/11/2013 13:20

My 17 month old DS has 200ml in the morning, 180ml in the afternoon and 240ml before bed. Also has 2 beakers of water and diluted juice a day....

ameliarose2012 · 09/11/2013 14:27

Mine has a cup with breakfast, and a big cup at bedtime. She doesn't always drink all the bedtime one though. HV told me she should be down to this by 12mo, and just down to bedtime by 18mo. So I've tried to stick with that.

She's never had milk to settle her to sleep though so it's not such a wrench taking it away from her!

havingastress · 09/11/2013 14:28

12 month old here..just 8 oz in the morning, and 6oz at night. Plenty of water through the day though.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 09/11/2013 14:32

Mine has too much according to the official line.

150ml first thing 100ml at mid morning and mid afternoon. 260ml at bed.

She likes her milk.

whenwilltherebegoodnews · 09/11/2013 18:52

Mine probably has too much, cup of milk mid morning with snack, same mid pm and another cup and bedtime. He's 16 months.

My nearly 4 year old has the same.

noblegiraffe · 09/11/2013 18:54

I stopped bfing at 17 months, he never liked cows milk as a drink, so none, except in cereal. He got enough calcium from that, yoghurt and cheese.

ilovepowerhoop · 09/11/2013 18:58

they only need around 300mls at that age inclusive of milk in food, in cereal, other dairy products, etc so it would be fine to cut lunch one.

amyjayde · 11/11/2013 07:16

16 month old DD has one sippy cup full in the morning and one before bed Smile she drinks water or juice throughout the day.

RubyGoat · 11/11/2013 07:21

Mine has 9oz at night. occasionally during the day with food but mostly drinks water. She is a very big (tall) girl & very active.

ZingWantsGin · 11/11/2013 07:57

same here, 3 x 200ml milk after waking, lunchtime nap, going to bed.

she will have another one if she wakes in the night (because she is hungry, because she chucked all her dinner on the floor while grinning mischievously)

I wouldn't cut out any, but reduce the amount instead.

in fact I'll be doing that soon as she started to leave up to a third of her bottle.
or I'll cut out the morning one. not sure yet.

btw, she is almost 19 months and on 75 centile for weight
