Failure for not being able to settle 9 month old?

My DD is 9 months old and in the last month her whole self settling had gone out the window. She now won't settle for night time either and screams on and off. Now when she wakes in night she is either held (but then screams when she's put down in cot) or comes in bed with me (settles bit quicker but still not straight away). Have tried the shush-pat, rubbing head an back and nothing works, every time she does settle and i leave the room she starts screaming again. Feel so useless as nothing i doing is working, it cam go on all night till she wears herself out. Any advice?x

You haven't Failed, be a bit kinder To yourself

Firstly, do you need To be up for work in the mornings or are you at home with DD? If at home can you rest in the day at all, short term úntil you can Get a decent night's sleep?

Is it the láying down that upsets her, or the being left in her cot? If it's being laid down then maybe she has a little relux? If it's the being left is there anyway you could sleep in her room for a night or Two?

On another thread someone said she slept in her DCs room, then positoned her duvet and pillow on the floor and sneaked out quietly after a while, then just the duvet and pillow on the floor.

I'm sure others will offer sage advice soon.
